Japan 2013: Nozomi Ishiguro

Continued from Entry 1: Let's Go To Japan!  ←

On the evening of my first night in Tokyo, we all went to Shibuya to see a runway show by Nozomi Ishiguro. His show was held at bellesalle Shibuya Garden on 17th October 2013, as part of the biannual fashion event roomsLINK.

We waited for around half an hour before being shown into the showcase room. The room was adorned in the centre by a huge scaffolding structure! The design also featured some strung bulbs with varying intensities of light inside, and the entire room was lit by some very bright spotlights which shone on rotation!

Nozomi Ishiguro has two concepts within his brand- Haute Couture and Tambourine. Haute Couture consists of runway high fashion, however Tambourine is designed for a younger clientele, with more ready-to-wear designs in the mix.

It was a little confusing that he displayed both collections in the same runway show, however it wasn't any bother as all his designs were beautifully unique and the SS2014 trends flowed through both.

Bold prints and Americanised designs ruled this collection, with stars and stripes featuring heavily within many designs. The fabrics mainly looked to be printed cotton, however above you can see exceptions, such as the gorgeous bright red leather rocker chic jacket!

Left: Me with the roomsLINK press board looking super un-fab from my flight ( ´_ゝ`) !!

You'll see that in the group shot the only girls from Cool Japan with me are Elle and Jess Yamada, and Alodia! That's because Miyake's flight wasn't until later, and Stella had to sort some things out due to an unforeseen luggage problem :(

At roomsLINK I took a shot together with Elle and Jess. They're from Indonesia, and they run an online clothing boutique called GOWIGASA. They're so fashionable and they're really sweet and fun to hang out with! You can read their blog online too where they post fashion updates, reviews and how-to's.

After the show finished, we met with Miyake and headed to a Tempura restaurant in Shibuya! The restaurant is called Tenmatsu, and you can find it here:

We all ate a lot of food and introduced ourselves to each other! It was lovely to meet everybody and discover we all had similar interests. It was a super nice relaxing evening, and as soon as I made it to my hotel room I fell asleep instantly!

I hope you're liking my Japan blogging so far! I'll have the next entry up in 1 week or so.
