Review | Lancome, Benefit, SheInside

Hello everyone! Small interruption in my Japan-Blogging ♡ I just got back from Anime Attacks convention in Newcastle, and on my way home I bought a few things which I'd like to review for you!

Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm

 Soothing Anti-Stress Moisturising Cream 50ml

A few weeks ago I bought a Lancome Travel Essentials set, which included a cleanser, toner, moisturiser, mascara and lip gloss. It was very useful and I found that the products were very compatible with my skin! When I bought my new foundation (Lancome Teint Miracle 010) the assistant used all of the Lancome skincare products on me, and I really liked how they felt, so I wanted to try them out a little more before making a full-size purchase.

So on my way home from Tokyo I bought the full-size of Lancome's Hydra Zen Neurocalm Moisturiser. I actually bought a gift-set version of it, as it was the same price duty free (£32.50), and it included a sample size of Genefique as well! I was so happy ♡

However, I realised when I sat down to eat in the airport I suddenly didn't have my bag with me any more! I was so upset, I looked everywhere that I had been and asked all the airport staff that I could find if they had seen it, but to no avail. I checked the Airport's lost and found the next day, and it hadn't turned up, so I can only imagine that some unkind person saw the opportunity and stole it. So cruel!!!

The full price of this skincare product is £39, and I knew that I was passing through duty free again in a week's time, so I picked it up again only yesterday. I didn't lose it this time. Thank goodness. It better last me a long time!

So, what do I think? Right now I'm very impressed! The packaging is lovely, and the mirrored lid is tinted pink which is a nice touch! You can buy this product both with SPF or without. I chose not to include SPF. The formula is very light and very hydrating, which is exactly what I needed. When it comes to winter, my skin often becomes dry and dull, so hopefully this will help my complexion retain radiance. You don't need to use a lot of product, so it should last a good while!

Even though I've only just bought the full size product, I've been using the travel-sized version for the past 3 weeks and I'm noticing a lot of improvements in my skin. The texture is better and some complexion inconsistencies are fading.

I would recommend this product for anybody who finds that their skin is combination to dry. I think this will be my go-to moisturiser for a while!

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion

Oil free facial lotion SPF 15 PA++ 15ml

I picked up this Facial Emulsion from Benefit's new skincare range. They've recently launched a multitude of moisturisers, toners, cleansers and creams to keep your skin from being thirsty! I'm on a hydration mission at the moment so I wanted to try an additional new product. I bought the travel sized trio, so I have three 15ml bottles. They were £14.50 Duty Free, and the full size was around £18 for 50ml. I wanted to get the travel size in case I find it's not compatible with my skin, and of course because it's convenient to travel with!

Benefit's notoriously awesome packaging hasn't failed again! The box is very pretty and the bottles are all very thoughtfully designed. It features a faux-cork top, and the bottle isn't actually glass- it's plastic, so it won't smash if you drop it!

The product is dispensed by a pump top, which is hygienic and easy to use.

The product is slightly beige toned, compared to the stark white of Hydra Zen. It smells lovely, and it glides smoothly over the skin. It's not a moisturiser, and you probably wouldn't achieve great results if you used it in place of a moisturiser. I'm currently using it over my moisturiser as an extra source of hydration, especially for my neck!

Having a hydrated base is very important in achieving radiance through your foundation, and I notice that my base makeup looks so much better than it did. If you can get your hands on travel sized versions of these products then do! I recommend that you do try them out before buying the full size, as everybody's skin is different and while these work great for me, they might not for you. Many beauty counters offer samples of skincare products, so shop around!

Grey POPCORN Print Round Neck Crop Sweatshirt

One Size, £15.32 by

Recently I was invited to choose an outfit for winter from SheInside! They're a large online clothing store who sell some really stylish items at a low cost! It's great for people like me who live in the middle of nowhere and have access to one high street of about 7 shops on the entire island ( ´_ゝ`) You really can't find clothes like this anywhere nearby so that's why I'm happy it's easy to purchase online!

I chose this popcorn sweater because I really don't have enough sweaters in my wardrobe right now, and winter is well and truly on its way! The fabric isn't very thick but it is warm, and it's well constructed. As you can see, the sleeves are a little short for my arms, so I rolled up the sleeves for a cropped look.

The actual sweater itself is also cropped, however I wore it tucked into the skirt. I think you could also style it with a shirt underneath, and you could wear it with shorts or skinny jeans too! I'm excited to try new things with it.

The red and white Popcorn motif is screen printed on, and it's reminiscent of Supreme's similar logo.

This skirt is not real leather! It's Pleather, or PU material. It's a little creased but they will drop out- this is worn straight from the packet! The waist is both elasticated and utilises a zipper. I usually have a great trouble finding waist-skirts that stay up and fit properly, and luckily this skirt fits exactly!

I'd had my eye on PU skirts for a while, and took this opportunity to finally own one! I'm all about finding interesting textures to use in my coordinations these days, so I'm really excited that PU is becoming more and more popular!

I picked up these glittery wing suspenders from Claire's just yesterday for £8! The kitty OTKs are from SBY in 109, and the shoes are from DreamV. The hair ties are from Paris Kid's on Takeshita-Dori!
